The recent movement of "so called" analysts and experts around WOA has left quite a few people a bit sickened (Jeff, Todd, Miko...)
We have lived in the "transistor age" for the past 40 years, just CRUDing around.
SOA is about building integrated circuits and reusing these ICs when to construct solutions. It is no surprise that some people can't make the switch, so to speak, and will find every possible way to build their solutions from transistors. Yes, the ICs have been hard to come by, because the old mentality is hard to break (Some people will still use an OpAmp as a transistor). It is also true that the IC technologies are barely hitting the market with: SCA and BPEL for instance.
